Norton, MA 02764

Dear Phyllis and Bernie:

On behalf of the individuals and families who visit The Wellness Community - Greater Boston, I thank you for your generous donation of 3 club chairs. The thoughtfulness of your donation helps to make our space a warm and comforting environment for our participants. We are most grateful for your kindness!

As you know, The Wellness Community moved into a beautiful new space in Newton Upper Falls last summer. Hundreds of individuals and families living with cancer visit The Wellness Community each month and rely on us to help see them through the emotional, psychological, social and philosophical issues that surround a cancer diagnosis. Please know your gift helps The Wellness Community to instill hope in those who are in the fight of their lives.

All of The Wellness Community programs are offered completely free of charge. Your kindness ensures that we will be able to continue providing support, education and hope to individuals and families living with cancer.

With sincere appreciation,

Cherry Muse

Dear Amy,

I am writing to express our sincere appreciation to Bernie & Phyl’s for their generous support of our project at 1876 Beacon Street, Brookline. This project will provide 14 low income individuals with a beautiful, safe, and affordable place to call home.

The addition of such nice furnishings by Bernie and Phyl’s will only enhance the pride and self esteem of those who reside at the 1876 Beacon Street location.

The Rubin family’s generosity is deeply appreciated and we hope to contact you with future opportunities as we work to complete other projects in Dorchester and Quincy. It was nice to have Rob and Larry Rubin at the ribbon cutting ceremony to share in the celebration.

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we offer our thanks to the Rubin family for supporting our efforts to house those in need

Sincerely,

Jonathon B. Wright

Dear Bernie and Phyllis:

I am writing to thank you for your support of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and our local alliance, Massachusetts Partners in Prevention. Your involvement in the recent schedule of anti-drug messages on WHDH-TV is a huge step in our efforts to keep the kids of the greater Boston area drug-free.

Though I now live in Maryland, I was raised in Newton. I have received calls ftom friends and relatives in the Boston area to let me know that they saw the anti-drug spots that you tagged. Your personal endorsement, by appearing on camera at the front of the ads is appreciated.

As I am sure you know, a toll-free phone number appears at the end of the commercials to provide a resource for those in crisis or folks who are requesting information. Several people have actually called the toll-free number to voice their appreciation of Bernie and Phyl’s commitment to airing these messages.

It has been a pleasure working with Suzanne Hassett at Channel 7. She did an excellent job in ensuring significant exposure for your messages. Together, Bernie and Phyl’s, WHDH-TV, the Massachusetts Partners in Prevention and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America are making a difference.

Sincerely,

Steve Cline
Deputy Director Market Management

Dear Bernie & Phyl,

Our “Partners in Prevention, a program of the MIAA” has been in existence for a little over a year. Our whole focus is to work cooperatively to assist young people to make healthy life choices.

Recently we formed an alliance with the “Partnership for a Drug Free America.” Our hope was to flood the media and therefore parents and students with anti-drug messages.

We are extremely grateful to you for your support. The ads that you selected were appropriate and meaningful. I am certain that they will have an impact. I hope that your support will continue because the drug problem is out of control in our state.

Enclosed is information about our partnership. If you have any questions or if you have further interest in our work please feel free to contact me at 508-541 -7997. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Kane

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rubin,

Thank you very much for your very generous donation of $90,000 to Habitat for Humanity Boston on May 4, 2001. (no goods or services were provided in consideration for this gift).

The families on Regent Street, Roxbury were so delighted and surprised by your donation of such lovely furniture. Their move into a new home was made even more exciting and delightful by the addition of your furniture. It was the first new furniture some of the families had ever experienced.

Through thousands of volunteer hours, donations of materials and contributions like yours, we continue to grow each year. We thank you for your support in our vision of e1iminating poverty housing in the greater Boston area.

Once again, thank you for helping us build hope by building homes.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Rubin:

In the days and weeks that followed the horrific events of September 11, 2001, the compassion and strength of businesses and individuals in the New England Region rose to meet the challenges and needs presented and have remained steadfast.

Unsolicited offers of support and assistance poured forth in a variety of forms. These gestures of generosity and kindness knew no boundaries as they were extended to blood donors, American Red Cross - New England Region staff, and the direct victims of September 11th alike.

On behalf of the American Red Cross Blood Services - New England Region, the American Red Cross National system, and the patients and public we serve, I thank you for your donation of television advertising time and willingness to support our efforts at this critical time. We are grateful for your help as we continue to carry ‘ out our mission to assist those in need.

Sincerely,

E. Mary O’Neill, M.D.
Executive Director
