Dear Friends:

Thank you so very much for your generous support of the Webster House makeover.  Our home looks amazing and the children love their new rooms.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever envision that within approximately 9 hours time our house would be painted, carpeted, decorated and accessorized with new sofas and flat screen televisions as well.  I can not thank you enough for your help in making this dream become a reality.

Webster House has been providing a caring home for children since 1884.  We can’t do it without commuinty involvement.  Thank you for being there for us, for your commitment to helping others and for your goodwill and community spirit.  Your kindness and friendship is greatly appreciated.

Have a healthy and prosperous 2008 and know full well that you have made a powerful impact on the children who live at Webster House.

Sincerely,

Lou Catano

Dear Naomi:

On behalf of the Donald Ross Elementary School community, I would like to thank you for your generous donation of a sofa for the lobby of our building.  Your contributrion has enabled us to make our lobby, which is the first area visitors see, more inviting and welcoming.

As you know, school budgets are tight, and we would not be able to acquire a sofa without the kind support of Bernie and Phyl’s Furniture.

Once again, thank you for your generous contribution.

Sincerely,

Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture Donates Over 100 Bedspreads to Local Furniture Banks

Norton, MA, February 27, 2006 — Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture recently donated over 100 bedspreads to two local furniture banks, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Furniture Bank in Lynn and the Central Mass Housing Alliance Donations Clearing House in Worcester. The bedspreads, which had previously been used in furniture displays in Bernie & Phyl’s stores, will be given free to any person in need of a warm blanket. This donation is one of many that Bernie & Phyl’s regularly makes to organizations serving needy populations across the region.

“When we decided to replace all of the bedspreads in our stores, we thought it would also be a great opportunity to help people in need,” said Bernie Rubin, co-founder and chairman of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture. “We are happy that our bedspreads will not only keep people warm, but will help make people’s housing accommodations seem more like a home.”

Through its Donations Assistance Program, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless provides thousands of families making the transition from homelessness into permanent housing with furniture and household goods free of charge. Since 1985, the Donations Clearing House has provided free donated furniture and household goods to over a 1,000 families per year who have been referred by area shelters, neighborhood centers, and health and human service agencies.

Dear Ms. Shore,

On behalf of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County, I would like to thank you and Bernie & Phyl’s for your generous donation of an ottoman, sofa and coffee table. The furniture now adorns our child and teen waiting room and teen interview room, and has helped to transform the space into a welcoming, comfortable place for the teens and families we serve.

In our new, larger space in the Family Justice Center of Boston, we will offer expanded, coordinated services from legal, medical, social service, mental health and advocacy professionals -all under one roof.

We are excited to be expanding both our physical space and our services to children and families in need. Thank you and Bernie & Phyl’s for your support and generosity. I hope that you will have the opportunity to visit us!

Dear Ms. Blumenthal:

It was a pleasure to have met you earlier in June at Fenway Park when Bernie Rubin of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture sponsored some of The Home for Little Wanderers children to participate in the Baseball Buddies Program. I assure you the staff and kids had a great time during the fun filled activities at the ballpark. Thank you for the part you played in helping make the event happen that brought lots of joy to children in need.

The Home has many opportunities for corporate and/or employ generated support. It is my pleasure to share these opportunities with you. I look forward to following up with you in the near future to discuss the current state of The Home and develop a plan to sustain the critical work being accomplished with our children and families.

Please let me know, in the interim, if there is anything I can do to help further the relationship between Blumenthal Associates and The Home for Little Wanderers. I can be reached at (617) 927-0677 or via email at swarrinnton (at) thehome.org. For more information on The Home, please visit our website at www.thehome.orq.

Boston Public Health Commission thanks Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture

Dear Ms. Blumenthal,

I am writing on behalf of the Boston Public Health Commission to thank you and Bernie and Phyl’s Furniture for the kind donation of two bureaus to one of the low income families in our Healthy Homes programs. As you know, this family was in the process of relocating due to unsanitary and over crowded conditions in their apartment. These conditions were exacerbating their young son’s asthma, causing him frequent hospitalizations and emergency room visits. Now, thanks to your generosity, the family has been moved to a renovated two bedroom apartment with two new pest-free bureaus to store their clothes.

An inspector on my staff recently visited the family and was commenting on how beautiful the dressers are. I know the family is thrilled arid appreciates your donation. I also want to thank your assistant Naomi for her role in coordinating the delivery of the furniture.

Very truly yours,

Emily M. Litonjua

Furniture donation to Child & Adolescent Mental Health Program

Dear Bernie and Phyl:

I am writing on behalf of all the children and staff members on Unit 1 to thank you for your generous donation of the oak table and chairs set for our new Conference Room. The Conference Room was expressly planned with the idea of a private, peaceful area apart from the general unit that could be used for admissions, talking groups, and meetings with families.

Your gift has defined the look of the room as just such a place. We are using it already, and we all love it!

Sincerely,
