Dear Ms. Shore:

Thank you very much for donating a $25 gift certificate to Bernie & Phyl’s to the 3rd Annual Wine Tasting to benefit Tailored For Success, Inc. held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Soldier’s and Sailors Memorial Hall in Melrose, Massachusetts.  The wine tasting was well attended and I am enclosing a copy of our program book which lists Bernie & Phyl’s as a sponsor of the event.  Your donation was used as a raffle item which helped to defray our costs and was much appreciated.

Tailored For Success, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low income women make a tailored transition into the workplace.  Our services include free distribution of business clothing, interview coaching and career development workshops to teach women the soft skills they need to not only get a job but to retain it.

We rely on community of donors to help us achieve our mission and are honored to include Bernie & Phyl’s in that community.  Thank you again for your support.

Sincerely yours,

Tailored for Success, Inc.

Dear Ms. Shore,

Thank you for supporting the 11th Annual Men of Boston Cook for Women’s Health Gala Fundraiser on September 27th with your silent auction donation.

Since 1995 Men of Boston has been a critical source of funding for women’s health programs at two of Boston’s most respected community health centers, Codman Square Health Center and Dorchester House Multi-Service Center.

With your support and the support of so many others, nearly 1,000 guests were treated to an extraordinary array of food, music and auction.  Auction items ranged from Patriots, Red Sox and concert tickets to lunch with Boston’s Mayor, Thomas M. Menino.

By all accounts it was both a memorable and fun evening for all who participated, as well as a financial success.  Your donation helped to raise over $240,000 to serve women’s health needs at all stages of their lives.  We could not have done it without you and hope that you will visit our website www.menofboston.com/gallery for photos of this special evening.

Our CEOs, Bill Walczak of Codman Square Health Center and Joel Abams of Dorchester House Multi-Service Center, join members of our health centers and boards in sending our sincere thanks for your support.  Of course, we welcome feedback on the event.

Lastly, we hope you will save the date of September 25, 2008 for the 12th Annual Men of Boston Cook for Women’s Health Gals Fundraiser.

With warmest wishes and thanks,

Henry A. Goodrow, Chief Development Officer
Millie R. Clements, Associate Directo for Development/Events

Dear Ms. Shore:

We received your donation of a gift certificate, valued at $25.00, in support of “On the Town - A Night OUt with Old Colony Hospice.” Our success depends upon the generosity of good friends like you who believe in our mission and we want you to know how much we appreciate your support.

On November 8th, guests will enjoy a very worthwhile & fun evening “On the Town” - live music, wine tasting, scrumptious appetizers with a bistro flair, dessert, casino gaming tables (for non-cash prices), and a terrific silent auction (where your donation will come in to help us) are just a few of the things we have in the store.  There are terrific raffles too - trips, cash and lottery tickets.  This event has something for everyone.

Old Colony Hospice provides highly skilled, compassionate care to 100-110 patients and support to their loved ones.  Patients receive care at home or in a skilled nursing facility in 36 cities and towns in Bristol, Norfolk and Plymouth counties.  Donations to our non-profit organization ensure that patients receive the pain medications they need, home health services, and access to equipment such as a hospital bed and many other items to ensure their comfort during end of life care.  The support of organizations like yours makes an impact in the life of a patient today.

Sincerely,

Linda Werman, Development Manager

Dear Friends,

We would like to thank you - our sponsors, donors, participants, and volunteers - for contributing to the outstanding success fo the tenth annual Brian D. Silber Memorial Golf Tournament.  With your support we raised over $95,000 for Brian’s Fund, bringing our total of giving to the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) to $1,100,000!  We are grateful to you for your support and generosity in the challenging endeavor of understanding and overcoming spinal cord tumors.

The money that we have raised to date for the MGH has been critical in establisihing and supporting the Brian D. Silber Spine Tumor Clinic.  The Clinic is committed to high quality patient care, innovative research, and effective educational programs.  Thanks to Brian’s Fund much has been achieved at the Clinic, including novel research on the molecular genetics of astrocytomas, an annual lectureship series, and purchase of state-of-the-art clinical equipement that has led to improved patient outcomes.  Updates about the Clinic can be found at http://spinetumorcenter.mgh.harvard.edu/.  Our goal is to provide the funds to continue this important work with the hope that one day there will be a cure for spinal cord tumors.

Plans are underway for the eleventh annual Brain D. Silber Memorial Gold Tournament which will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at The Meadow at Peabody, with the dinner reception following at the Hilltop Steak House.  We hope that we can count on you again to participate in this special event.
