Dear Naomi,

On behalf of the more than 4,500 infants, children, adults and families served by Kennedy-Donovan Center, thank you for your donation to our Auction at the 19th Annual Founder’s Gala, on May 5, 2006.  Which by the way was a great success!  Your support not only contributed to the success of the Gala, but also benefitted the thousands of individuals and families who turn to Kenedy-Donovan Center for services and support every day.

For almost 40 years, Kennedy-Donovan Center has been dedicated to providing services, support and opportunities that assist and enable thousands of people with disabilities and other unique challenges.  But we don’t and can’t do it alone.

We need to rely more than ever on fund-raising to provide the services needed.  Your donation of the Bernie & Phyl’s Gift Certificate worth $25.00 did just that!  Many thanks again for being part of our Circle of Friends.

With appreciation and warm regards,

Ann Buono
Vice President of Development and Public Relations

Marian High School thanks Bernie & Phyl’s for donation

Dear Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture Store,

Please accept our thank you for your generous donation to the Marian High School “Best Ticket in Town” Gala Auction.  In addition to thanking you we also want you to have this receipt for your taxes.  Your donation to Marian was equal to $25.00 worth of items for which you did not receive anything in return.

The auction program of the evening was quite successful.  Through the generosity of businesses and people like you, our ‘Best Ticket in Town” evening raised over $80,000 for the benfit of Marian High School and its students.  Each year we depend on fundraisers such as our annual gala auction to help finance school needs which are not incorporated into tuition.  It is truly the goal of Marian to keep tuition affordable so that it remains available to all families who want a Catholic education for their children.  Only through the sucess of functions such as the gala auction is this possible.

Next year we will be again asking you for a donation.  I do hope you will be equally as generous.  Planning an auction is a significatn undertaking; however, withouth that kindness of businesses and people such as you, it could never take place.  We want you to know how much we appreciate your generosity.

On behalf of the Auction Committee and Marian High School community, we wish you a happy, health and prosperous summer.  Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.

Yours in Marian,

Dale Gudejko and
Marian High School “Best Ticket in Town” Auction Committee

Another public school is supported by Bernie & Phyl’s

Dear Local Merchant,

Thank you so much for contributing to the Highland’s School Silent Auction this year.  The event was a huge sucess due to yorus, as well as others, generosity.  We had a great turnout and everyone commented on the wonderful prizes.

All of our fundraising efforts support the school’s arts and enrichment programs, purchase school supplies and fund educational field trips which in turn helps us enrich our children’ts learning experience.

Thank you again for your generosity.  We really appreciate it.

Dear Naomi,

Thank you for your help in making South Shore Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Gala & Auction a huge success again this year!  Held on Saturday, May 6 at the Reebok World Headquarters in Canton, the event brought together over 300 guests and raised approximately $90,000 in conbination with the previous weekend’s Birdhouse Show at the South Shore Plaza.  This is a significant jump from past years and we are truly thrilled with the success of both events.

The array of auction items featured this year was truly outstanding!  So many companies and individuals made donations to us that helped us raise $50,000 in the live and silent auctions!  We especially appreciate Bernie & Phy’s for donating a $50 gift certificate to this year’s event.

All of the proceeds from the Annual Gala & Auction and the Birdhouse Show will support construction projects in 2006.  Right now, we have 4 homes under construction, and 4 Family Partners investing “sweat equity” and anticipating the day their homes will be complete and they will become home owners.

On behalf of our families, our staff and our Board of Directors, thank you for partnering with us in the 2006 Annual Gala & Auction.  We look forward to working with you again next year.

Sincerely,

Mark O’Reilly

Dear Ms. Shore:

On behalf of Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services and the older residents of our community, I would like to thank you for your generous donation to our 7th annual ElderFair.  With your help, over 300 senior citizens were able to enjoy our biggest and best ElderFair to date.

ElderFair participants were able to take advantage of six different health screenings, including: blood pressure readings, body mass index measurement, cholesterol screenings, bone density screenings, glucose readings, and glaucoma testing.  In addition, we provided three different types of physical activity demonstratons: Chi Gong, Yoga, and chair exercises.  With the help of twenty five community service organizations we were able to raise awareness regarding: activites, adaptive equipment, assisted living, disabilities, disease control and prevention, health care, home adaptation, legal services, nutrition, safety, and transportation.  In addition, counselors from the national My Medicare Matters program helped seniors enroll in the new Medicare-D Prescription plan.

Again, thank you for helping us provide this special day for our older neighbors.  I hope you will be part of our team again next year.  I’m enclosing a copy of the program booklet for your records.

Sincerely,

Dear Naomi,

We are very grateful to Bernie & Phyl’s for generously donating a Gift Certificate valued at $25 for this year’s Big Dipper Ice Cream Festival.  All proceeds from the festival allow us to advance our mission to promote the emotional, social and physical health of a needy and diverse population of children and to advocate for their rights.

Sponsorship from generous organizations like Bernie & Phyl’s allows us to raise money for the children and families who come to Children’s Friend for hlp - help making new families through adoption - help keeping teens in school during and after pregnancy while teaching them parenting skills - help dealing with serious mental health and behavioral problems - and help processing grief after the death of a loved one.  Without such support, these important services would not be possible.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and the children we serve, thank you and your colleagues at Bernie & Phyl’s for caring about children and those who love them.

Sincerely,

Marleen A. Kilcoyne

Dear Ms. Shore:

Thank you for your donation of a $25.00 Gift Certificate toward the raffle at The New England Center for Children/Dunkin’ Donuts Ninth Annual Golf Classic.

Proceeds from this year’s Golf Classic will go toward the Annual Fund at NECC, which allows us to provide much of the vital equipment that helps each of our students reach his or her goals to attain greater independence. Support from individuals, corporations and foundations have made a tremendous impact on the quality of life for children at NECC.

Here are some examples of what the Annual Fund has allowed us to provide for our students:

* Computers and software
* Upgrades to existing computer equipment
* Furnishings for our group residences
* Gym equipment
* Extensive refurbishment of 14 group homes
* Serving line equipment in our cafeteria, where our student workers serve lunch each day
* Playground and recreational equipment
* Personal Assistive Communication Devices

Your support allows us to expand and improve our facilities, programs, and learning materials in order to provide a superior learning and growth experience for the students we serve. Thank you!

Bernie & Phyl’s donates to Hospice

Dear Ms. Shore:

Thank you for supporting our 8th Annual “Stepping Out For Hospice” Memorial Walk.  It was an amazing day - and the rain held off!  Your recent donation of a gift certificate, valued at $25.00, and show of support was an important addition to our donations.  I will list your business as a supporter in our Spring Newsletter.

On April 23, 2006, over 1000 people joined us at Stonehill College as we trekked through the scenic campus.  This annual event is a meaningful way for our communities to join with family members and OCH staff, along with corporate and community walk teams, in raising awareness for hospice programs and services.

We are happy to report that the following goals were met:

  • To raise $125,00 in support of our programs and services at Old Colony Hospice,
  • To spread awareness to the public of the benefits of choosing hospice care for patients, and
  • To have an enjoyable day in our community - Music, food, kids corner, raffles & awards.

This year, Old Colony Hospice will provide highly skilled, compassionate care to 80-95 patients, along with their loved ones, each day.  We care for patients with compassion and dignity in private homes, as well as skilled nursing facilities.  Your donation helps us bridge the gap between what we are paid by insurers and the true cost of providing care and medication during this most difficult phase of life.

Sincere thank for your involvement,

Marilyn A. Jackson
