Dear Naomi,

On behalf of South Shore Habitat for Humanity, our Family Partners and the Committee for the 7″ Annual Golf Classic, I would like to once again thank you for the support Bernie & Phyl’s has given to this annual event. Your donation of a $25 gift certificate to this year’s tournament was one of the more than 80 items raffled or sold by silent auction. Every dollar raised brings Family Partners, such as the tournament’s speaker, Kim Moran, one step closer to realizing the pride and stability of home ownership.

As a major donor to our organization, Bernie & Phyl’s will extend its presence beyond the tournament by being recognized in our October newsletter; sent to more than 10,000 individuals, businesses, and organizations in the South Shore and beyond. Sponsors like you lay the foundation for the success of our Golf

Classic, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come as this event grows.

With warmest regards,

Cynthia Hargrove . Perkins
Executive Director

Dear Ms. Shore,

Thank you for your generous donation to the annual Link Up for MS Pro Am Golf Tournament. The Bernie & Phyl’s $50 gift certificate was a premier addition to the raffle. It was a beautiful day at the Ferncroft Country Club and we had 92 players, 12 LPGA members, and more than 20 volunteers. To date, this tournament has raised over $80,000! Your generous support of the fight against multiple sclerosis will help to change the face of this devastating disease.

Your participation will not only allow the National MS Society to fund critical research, but it will also enable our Chapter to provide community-based education, support and advocacy in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Through these services we are responding to the needs of the many individuals and their families who are confronted every day by the many challenges of living with multiple sclerosis.

We are also very excited to announce that the third annual Link Up for MS Pro Am Golf Tournament will be held at the Ipswich Country Club, Ipswich, MA on July 24,2006. If you are in-ed in playing or receiving sponsorship opportunities, please contact Melissa Pilicy at 781.890.4990 x129.

Thank you again for your commitment in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. We look forward to seeing you next year.

Sincerely,

Arlyn A. White

Bernie & Phyl’s furniture contributes to Spine Tumor Clinic

Dear Friends,

Thank you for contributing to the outstanding success of our eighth annual Brian D. Silber Memorial Golf Tournament. With your support, we raised $100,000 for the continued growth of the Brian D. Silber Spine Tumor Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital. The proceeds from the tournament have helped us reach close to $900,000 for Brian’s Fund. We are deeply touched by the kindness and generosity demonstrated by so many people.

The Brian D. Silber Spine Tumor Clinic is committed to high quality patient care, innovative research, and effective educational programs. In the past year we have seen the continued growth of the Clinic where patients are evaluated, advised, and treated by a multidisciplinary group of doctors. Brian’s Fund also support for a research team focused on spinal cord tumor research.  Our goal is to provide the funds to continue this important work with the hope that one day there will be a cure.

Plans are underway for the ninth annual Brim D. Silber Memorial Golf Tournament which will take place on July 19, 2006. We hope that we can count on you again to participate in this special event.

We are grateful to you for making this tournament a success and for your camaraderie, loyalty, and support. Working together we can truly make a difference in the lives of spine tumor patients and their families.

Sincerely,

Sharon and Jason Silber

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Bernie & Phyl’s

Dear Ms. Shore,

On behalf of the Organization for a New Equality (O.N.E;) we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture for your commitment to the silent auction at our annual fundraising event, the Medal of Hope Dinner. Your donation of a $50 gift certificate will help to raise more funds for the Organization which in turn will allow 0.N.E to provide financial education to individuals and families across the nation.

The Medal of Hope dinner is O.N.E’s largest fundraising event and, this year, the Medal of Hope dinner not only celebrates O.N.E’s 20″ anniversary but also the 10″ anniversary of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Reform. O.N.E’s 20 years of work and the CRA Reform has led to millions of dollars being invested in low and moderate income communities and thousands of individuals achieving economic independence.

Again, we thank you for your commitment to economic equality. Your generous contribution will help ONE raise critical funds and will allow 0-N.E to continue to bring people into the financial mainstream for many more years to come.

Bernie & Phyl help support Greater Boston Food Bank

Naomi Shore
Bernie and Phyl’s

Dear Naomi,

Thank you for your donation of a $25 gift certificate for The Greater Boston Food Bank’s Second Helping Gala. This donation helped us to raise over $1 15,000, which will enable us to continue to rescue an estimated 4,000 pounds each and every week of perishable and prepared food that would otherwise go to waste.

Begun in 1989 as a joint venture w@ the Boston College Alumni Association, Second Helping is the critical link between food establishments willing to donate their surplus and a wide range of emergency and non-emergency feeding programs. Donors to this vital rescue program include caterers, hotels, corporate cafeterias, universities and restaurants. Last year Second Helping collected more than 216,000 pounds of nutritious food, providing the equivalent of nearly 166,000 meals to those in need.

In addition to daily pick-ups and deliveries by Food Bank staff using our own trucks, we now facilitate the direct transfer of even more surplus by serving as the intermediary, matching available donations with the needs of our Second Helping recipients by food type and amount.

To learn more about hunger in Massachusetts and how we are serving people in your area, we invite you to visit our website, www.abfb.org. The site is also secure for making additional charitable gifts to Second Helping, Kids Cafe, Brown Bag, or wherever the need is greatest.

Thank you again for your thoughtful gift!

Sincerely,

Carla Kindt
Director of Development and Capital Campaign

We couldn’t have done it without you!

Dear Ms. Shore:

We want to thank you for your donation to our “Taste of Braintree” fundraiser this year. The success of an event such as this depends on many things, especially the kindness of individuals and businesses that support our efforts and generously donate to our silent auction. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Approximately 1,000 people attended this special event - more than triple the number of last year. I have enclosed a copy of our event brochure.

With this year’s proceeds, the Parent Involvement Program was able to sponsor a Braintree High School team to compete at the National Robotics Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. We are proud to say that they placed 3rd among 53 teams nationwide. With this being their first time - what an awesome accomplishment! We also plan on continuing with our middle schools’ robotics teams, with this year being able to sponsor a novice team and an advanced team at each middle school.

Besides funding the MCAS tutoring program for our fourth graders, we are pleased to have another opportunity to enrich the education of the children of Braintree. The sixth graders will be able to participate in a tutoring program in preparation for their math MCAS tests. We strongly believe in supporting math, science and technology programs. With your help this year, we were able to expand these programs and many others.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous donation, which helped to make this day an extremely successful one for the children of Braintree.

Sincerely yours,

PARENT INVOLVEMENT PROGRAM
