Bernie & Phyl’s donates to Dog Orphans Charity Auction

Dear Friend of Dog Orphans,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous support of the 5″ Annual Charity Auction held on Saturday, November 8, 2003. Dog Orphans is pleased to share the great news that the event was a tremendous success. This year we raised $8500 dollars for the shelter.

As a non-profit, no kill shelter, our important work can only continue with the support and generosity of the community we serve. Our auction booklet listed all donations and the businesses and organizations that provided items to this event. We hope that our many attendees will return your support by patronizing your business.

Dog Orphans has been in existence and self-sufficient through contributions and benevolence for more than thirty years. Without your support, we would not be able to continue our work in placing homeless dogs.

Sincerely,

Ron Morse
Manager

Dear Naomi:

On behalf of all the folks who are organizing this year’s “Cheers for Children” Holiday Auction and Party, thank you very much for your kind donation to our 24th Annual event.

Since we started this auction back in 1980 in the Bull & Finch Pub with a small gathering of regulars, it has grown each year with more guests, more donations and most importantly, more funds raised.

This being our 24th Annual Auction, we have planned a great evening and party for all of our friends who will be joining us. In appreciation of your donation, we would like you to have these complimentary tickets with the hope you will be able to be a part of the Holiday Festivities. Please do not hesitate to call us, if you have any questions or need additional tickets.

Once again, thank you and enjoy a wonderful holiday season.

Sincerely,

Cheers for Children Committee

Dear Amy,

I am writing to express our sincere appreciation to Bernie & Phyl’s for their generous support of our project at 1876 Beacon Street, Brookline. This project will provide 14 low income individuals with a beautiful, safe, and affordable place to call home.

The addition of such nice furnishings by Bernie and Phyl’s will only enhance the pride and self esteem of those who reside at the 1876 Beacon Street location.

The Rubin family’s generosity is deeply appreciated and we hope to contact you with future opportunities as we work to complete other projects in Dorchester and Quincy. It was nice to have Rob and Larry Rubin at the ribbon cutting ceremony to share in the celebration.

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we offer our thanks to the Rubin family for supporting our efforts to house those in need

Sincerely,

Jonathon B. Wright

Donation to Partnership for a Drug-Free America

Dear Bernie and Phyllis:

I am writing to thank you for your support of the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and our local alliance, Massachusetts Partners in Prevention. Your involvement in the recent schedule of anti-drug messages on WHDH-TV is a huge step in our efforts to keep the kids of the greater Boston area drug-free.

Though I now live in Maryland, I was raised in Newton. I have received calls ftom friends and relatives in the Boston area to let me know that they saw the anti-drug spots that you tagged. Your personal endorsement, by appearing on camera at the front of the ads is appreciated.

As I am sure you know, a toll-free phone number appears at the end of the commercials to provide a resource for those in crisis or folks who are requesting information. Several people have actually called the toll-free number to voice their appreciation of Bernie and Phyl’s commitment to airing these messages.

It has been a pleasure working with Suzanne Hassett at Channel 7. She did an excellent job in ensuring significant exposure for your messages. Together, Bernie and Phyl’s, WHDH-TV, the Massachusetts Partners in Prevention and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America are making a difference.

Sincerely,

Steve Cline
Deputy Director Market Management
