Dear Mr. Rubin,

The YWCA of Cambridge Family Shelter Program provides temporary housing and assistance to homeless families. Families reside at the shelter for different lengths of time, some only a few months others may be here for a year or more. Therefore, our program s& to provide a clean and safe environment for the families and thanks to your help we can continue to do this.

On behalf of the families and staff I would like to thank you for your generous donation of the two couches and oversized armchair. The two couches were placed in the family room at the Y site and replaced the old worn couches. The armchair was placed at our second site on Bigelow Street in the office/meeting area. The new furniture has created a welcoming, homelike atmosphere for the families. Thank you again for your generosity.

Sincerely,

Kakali Dasgupta, LSW

Dear Bernie and Phyl:

I want to take the opportunity to express appreciation from my office for your very generous and caring gift of 125 new Sealy mattresses to The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center on Shawmut Avenue.

As I am sure the folk at Harbor Light pointed out, this is a very significant program which benefits numerous individuals in so many ways. It is a difficult program to fund; and your very generous gift of $20,000 worth of mattresses is  appreciated at the highest level. We want to say thank you to- you personally and to the new “Friends in Need Foundation”.

May God’s blessing continue to be upon you.

Sincerely yours,

Please accept our gratitude for the furniture and accessories you so kindly donated to the Pine Street Inn. Your generous support allows Pine Street to continue its services to more than 1,100 men, women, and children each day.

Pine Street Inn responds to the immediate needs of the homeless such as clothes, food, shelter, and medical care. We also provide transitional programs and permanent housing aimed at solving the problem of homelessness.
